EMPOWERING HERITAGE THROUGH CRAFT

Red Sea Global And Saudi Artisanal Company Unite to Support Local Artisans.

In a landmark partnership announced on 1 December 2025, Red Sea Global (RSG) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Artisanal Company. The agreement, formalized during the Red Sea Classic Sailing Cup at Turtle Bay, seeks to uplift Saudi artisans especially those from the Red Sea regions by integrating their craft heritage into the burgeoning luxury-tourism offerings at RSG destinations.

Under this partnership, RSG and Saudi Artisanal Company will build an integrated ecosystem for artisan support. This includes developing innovative production lines inspired by local heritage, offering specialized training programs and workshops, and launching entrepreneurial incubation initiatives. The aim is to enable artisans to produce high-quality, culturally authentic handicrafts that meet modern standards.

As part of the deal, Saudi Artisanal Company will activate its distribution channels to market these artisans’ creations, ensuring sustainable business growth and opening access to global markets through RSG’s international tourism infrastructure.

“We take pride in this step, which confirms our unwavering commitment to the people of the Red Sea regions and empowering them to be active participants in the success story of our destinations. Traditional crafts are not just products. They are a living narrative of our national identity. Our partnership aims to preserve this legacy and present it to the world according to the highest standards, achieving a tangible social and economic impact aligned with our vision for people and planet,” said RSG’s Senior Director of Social Development, Rasha Shawoosh.

On the other side, Saudi Artisanal Company’s CEO of Shared Services, Ibrahim Al-Dulaijan, added: “We are delighted to collaborate with Red Sea Global to open new horizons for Saudi crafts. This MoU will provide artisans with an exceptional platform to reach global markets through leading tourism destinations. It will also contribute to developing products that combine authenticity with modern standards, supporting Saudi Vision 2030 objectives in diversifying the creative economy.”

At RSG’s flagship destination, The Red Sea Destination which began welcoming guests in 2023, visitors will soon see and purchase these handcrafted goods, enriching their travel experience with authentic Saudi culture. Meanwhile, at AMAALA, scheduled to open its first phase soon, the collaboration will similarly spotlight Saudi craftsmanship across its luxury resorts, spa facilities, marinas, and wellness offerings.

This alliance not only drives RSG’s commitment to sustainable, culturally rooted tourism development, but it also contributes directly to national efforts under Saudi Vision 2030 to strengthen the creative economy. By integrating local artisans into global tourism and elevating their handicraft to international standards, RSG and Saudi Artisanal Company are turning tradition into opportunity, preserving heritage, boosting livelihoods, and enriching the visitor experience all at once.
