Integrated construction and facilities management create lasting value.
At Big 5 Construct Saudi Arabia, Saudi Projects Director Waseem Asmar spoke with Naif Alruwais, Chairman of Alruwais, about the company’s growth, integrated project approach, strategic partnerships and ambitions for the future.
SAUDI PROJECTS: Could you briefly introduce Alruwais and its divisions?
NAIF ALRUWAIS: Founded in Riyadh in 2015, Alruwais has grown from a contracting business into an integrated provider of project solutions across the Kingdom.
We operate through two main sectors. Construction and Finishing covers general and specialized contracting, including structural and civil works, electrical and mechanical works, and final finishing. Facilities Management focuses on operating, maintaining and managing assets after construction.

We have delivered more than 65 projects, employ more than 2,500 people, and serve government and private-sector clients, including the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Ministry of Sport, Safa Investment, and Abdullah M. Bin Saedan and Sons Real Estate.
Our approach is simple: build the asset properly and ensure it continues to perform throughout its operational life.
SAUDI PROJECTS: How important was Big 5 Construct Saudi for Alruwais?
NAIF ALRUWAIS: It was one of our strongest platforms this year. More than 10,000 visitors came to our stand, including decision-makers, potential partners, government representatives and talent.
For us, the quality of the meetings was more important than the number of visitors. The exhibition brings the market together in one place, creating opportunities for direct and focused conversations.

For a growing company, that visibility and the relationships developed through the event are extremely valuable. Our sector is built on trust, and Big 5 provided an excellent platform to build that trust.
SAUDI PROJECTS: You signed several agreements at the exhibition. What did they cover?
NAIF ALRUWAIS: We signed eight cooperation and partnership agreements, as well as one concluded contract.
The agreements covered business development, financing relationships, social responsibility and investment in national talent. This reflects the broader direction of Alruwais and our commitment to developing partnerships that create value beyond individual projects.

We see these agreements as the beginning of long-term relationships, with their real value measured by what we achieve together.
SAUDI PROJECTS: How does Alruwais align its strategy with Saudi Vision 2030?
NAIF ALRUWAIS: Vision 2030 has fundamentally changed the opportunities and requirements within our sector.
Our Facilities Management business directly supports the efficient operation and maintenance of national assets throughout their lifecycle. At the same time, the growing role of the private sector in national development requires companies to operate with strong governance, accountability and professional standards.
Local content and Saudi talent development are also central to our strategy. We continue to invest in hiring, training and developing national talent, helping build the capabilities needed for the Kingdom’s next phase of growth.
SAUDI PROJECTS: How are technology and sustainability integrated into your projects?
NAIF ALRUWAIS: We view both as practical elements of effective delivery.
Our internal operations use ERP systems, while our facilities and assets are managed through CAFM platforms, supported by performance monitoring, reporting and field applications. This allows decisions to be based on accurate data and helps ensure assets continue to perform after handover.

Our sustainability philosophy is equally practical: an asset that is built correctly and operated efficiently will consume fewer resources, cost less to operate and deliver greater value over its lifetime.
We operate under ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. Our operations and cleaning teams also work to BICSc standards.
SAUDI PROJECTS: Where do you see Alruwais in five years?
NAIF ALRUWAIS: I want Alruwais to be known for one thing above all: projects that maintain their performance over time.
Our growth will come from developing a deeper role across the asset lifecycle, from construction through long-term operation, while expanding our capabilities and maintaining clear governance and transparent performance.
Ultimately, I want Alruwais to be the partner clients think of when they need a project built right and kept running right for years.
