The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has granted licences to more than 24 theme parks and 421 entertainment centers as the Kingdom continues to diversify its economy in accordance with Vision 2030 objectives.
In addition, up to the end of 2022, GEA had provided 4,198 permits for entertainment events, along with 3,370 permits for live performances in restaurants and cafes, as well as licenses for more than 1,300 entertainment shows. In the field of art and entertainment talent management, the authority has provided in excess of 630 permits.
The government entity also granted over 360 crowd organization and management certifications, together with over 700 permits to run entertainment venues and 120 certificates for ticket sales for entertainment activities.

The Saudi entertainment industry has undergone a remarkable transition in recent years, with the GEA and the General Commission for Audiovisual Media launching a series of initiatives to advance the sector. As a result, several major players in the world of cinema have already entered the Kingdom, providing audiences with a whole new entertainment experience.
The ultimate intention is to open 350 theaters and 2,500 screens over the next five years, resulting in more than 30,000 jobs by 2030.
