At a reception held in London by the Saudi Transport General Authority, with key figures such as the Saudi Ambassador to the UK Prince Khalid Bn Bandar Bin Sultan, and Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Dr Rumaih Al Rumaih, in attendance, it was announced that the Kingdom, as part of its Vision 2030, will establish 59 logistics zones.
Prince Khalid stressed Saudi Arabia’s dedication to realizing Vision 2030 and emphasized the importance of recent developments in the maritime sector. Moreover, he also praised the significant progress made in the logistics sector and underlined the Kingdom’s support for the marine environment.

Outlining the plans for the logistics zones, Dr Al Rumaih, commented “Our aim by 2030 is to be among the top 10 countries in the Logistics Performance Index.” He went on to explain that there were plans in place to increase port capacity by more than 40 million containers while expressing satisfaction with the progress taken in enhancing the marine environment and the collaborations with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and its member states.
