The AlUla Train Project will launch in 2027 and consist of a 22.4km line with 17 stations and 20 trains, with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) having formed a partnership with Alstom to provide both vehicles and systems. As one of the principal projects in the RCU’s Journey Through Time Masterplan, the line will play a crucial role in transforming the region into a global destination for arts, heritage, culture, and nature, in line with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.
One of the primary objectives of the AlUla Train Project is to promote sustainability in transportation by reducing congestion on roads and diminishing noise levels. The trains will operate on sustainable electricity and connect heritage sites, providing a unique experience for tourists that highlights the wonderful natural environment.
