Since its launch in 2017, Vision 2030 has delivered a remarkable transformation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At the heart of this groundbreaking agenda is a valley that nurtured its first inhabitants, Diriyah. Known as The City of Earth, it is today redefining urban cultural development.
The giga-project is the culmination of centuries of history, and, across 14 km2, its development, the product of the Diriyah masterplan, is unlocking the founding story of the Kingdom.
Diriyah Company, is led by Jerry Inzerillo under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. A Public Investment Fund (PIF)-portfolio giga-project, it is backed by a $63.2 billion investment pipeline.

A World Heritage Site
Central to its design and at the heart of its unique culture is a much-celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enrolled since 2010, the ancestral home of the House of Al Saud and the site of the founding of the First Saudi State in 1727 is named At-Turaif.
The City of Earth features mudbrick Najdi architecture, which is synonymous with the Kingdom’s foundation and is the design inspiration for the giga-project. Central to Diriyah’s offering are the immersive and differentiated visitor experiences on offer. Reimagining global brands across hospitality, retail, entertainment, and residential, the significance of its architecture cannot be understated.
Set to receive 50 million annual visits by 2030 and contribute SAR70 billion to the Saudi GDP, the giga-project is a source of significant opportunity and growth for the local community.
A Great Place to Work
By the end of the decade, over 170,000 jobs will have been created, considerably expanding the local economy. Partnerships with leading educational institutions are furthering skill development, such as an MoU recently signed with King Saud University, which will see training schemes offered to students to introduce them to the labor market and help bridge the gap between theoretical and practical education.
A catalyst for the incredible success of Vision 2030, Diriyah is a leading example of the huge progress that the agenda is championing right across the Kingdom.
Diriyah is a source of national pride for all Saudis
Almost 2,000 Diriyah Company staff and a daily construction workforce of over 21,000 are working to deliver the ambitious project, which has been recognized as a model for the region. Diriyah was recently awarded the ‘Great Place to Work’ distinction in Asia in the Large Enterprise category, its fourth consecutive year of recognition.
The project is a prominent example of the positive role of Saudization across the Kingdom. With 84% of Diriyah Company staff being Saudi nationals, including 14% from the local community, Diriyah’s progress is consistently setting new benchmarks.
A Source of National Pride
Diriyah is a source of national pride for all Saudis, and as it opens to the world, it is celebrating the Kingdom’s long antiquity. As carefully preserved history, heritage, and culture meet international luxury amenities and renowned brands, Diriyah Company is creating one of the world’s greatest gathering places.
A hub for cultural exchange, Diriyah’s growth is redefining the potential of authentic city planning, showcasing its rich heritage, elevating its community, and pioneering the next chapter in the city’s incredible story.
