Transitioning Leadership to Propel NEOM’s Development Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Aiman Mohammed Al-Mudaifer was appointed by the NEOM Board of Directors as Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on November 12, 2024. His appointment marks a pivotal moment as NEOM transitions into a critical phase of development, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
In addition to his NEOM leadership role, Aiman is also at the helm of the Local Real Estate Division within the Kingdom’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). In this role, which he has held since 2018, Aiman has overseen significant projects, including the Rou’a Al Haram and Rou’a Al Madinah initiatives, which focus on developing areas around the holy sites in Mecca and Madinah to enhance the experience for pilgrims and visitors.
Aiman’s academic background includes a Bachelor degree in Systems Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran. His extensive experience in both the public and private sectors has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of large-scale project management and strategic development.
As Acting CEO of NEOM, Aiman is tasked with steering the ambitious giga-project through its next stages. NEOM encompasses several groundbreaking initiatives, such as “THE LINE,” a 170-kilometer linear city designed to revolutionize urban living; “Trojena,” a mountain destination set to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games; and “Oxagon,” an advanced industrial city. Since commencing his role at NEOM, Aiman has been focused on ensuring operational continuity, agility, and efficiency, aligning with the overarching vision and objectives of NEOM – to redefine livability, business and conservation.
Aiman’s appointment came at a time when NEOM is intensifying efforts to meet ambitious deadlines and deliver on its promise of creating a “new future” of urban living, where sustainability is prioritized, and people live in harmony with nature and are enabled by advanced technology. His strategic insight and leadership are expected to play a crucial role in realizing NEOM’s vision as a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification and innovation agenda.
