Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded the construction of the NIC Circle 380/132kV substation project in NEOM to the Al Gihaz Contracting Company. The value of the contract is SAR 515 million ($137.4 million).
The scope of works includes the construction of a new indoor 380/132kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) to be known as NIC Circle BSP.
Major equipment includes 380kV GIS, 132kV GIS, 502MVA power transformers, reactors, protection and control system, substation automation system, telecommunication system, security system, cyber security, civil and electro-mechanical works. The scope of works of this project also includes the expansion of the Dhuba Green Substation.

The contractor will provide design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transportation and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing, and commissioning, as well as all associated work and services until the substation work is handed over in a satisfactory working and operating condition. The project completion period is 28 months.
