Abeer AlAkel has been appointed the new CEO of the Royal Commission for AlUla which is especially notable due to the prestige and trust such a position commands being placed in the hands of a female leader.

She will work closely with local and international experts
Abeer will work closely with specialists in archaeology, heritage conservation and preservation, architecture, and master planning to deliver an environmentally sympathetic transformation.
The appointment comes with the news of the arrest of Amr Al Madani, on allegations of money laundering. Al Madani was arrested for allegedly obtaining contracts for a separate company in which he has ownership.
