Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Gains a Landmark Destination for Luxury Sailing, Marine Tourism and Regenerative Hospitality.
The opening of the AMAALA Yacht Club marks a significant new chapter for Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea, positioning the Kingdom as an emerging global destination for luxury yachting, sailing and marine tourism.
Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind AMAALA, officially announced the opening on September 14, 2026, with the Yacht Club now welcoming founding members and visiting yachts to AMAALA Marina Village at Triple Bay.
Located approximately 2,000 nautical miles from Monaco and around 200 nautical miles from the Suez Canal, the destination offers an alternative winter cruising base for the international yachting community. Its geographical position places the Saudi Red Sea closer to the Mediterranean than traditional winter destinations in the Caribbean, while providing a gateway toward the Indian Ocean.
“The AMAALA Yacht Club marks the emergence of a truly global yachting destination, offering unparalleled access to the stunning Saudi Red Sea coast. More than a world-class facility, it brings together luxury, wellness, and regenerative tourism in a way that is unique anywhere in the world,” John Pagano, Group CEO at Red Sea Global

A Landmark Marina Destination
The AMAALA Marina features 119 berths and is designed to accommodate superyachts exceeding 100 meters, supported by marine services including fueling, with maintenance and repair facilities planned for the coming years. The marina forms the waterfront setting for the 7,900-square-meter Yacht Club, which has been conceived as both a social hub and operational center for the international yachting community.
According to AMAALA, the marina can accommodate motor and sailing yachts up to 130 meters. Dock managers provide support with bunkerage, power and water supply, while fast-fiber internet is available on request. International entry and exit visas can also be arranged.
Inside the club, members and guests have access to AMAALA Lounge, ANQA, 27°C and The Deck, together with a rooftop pool, private meeting suites and dedicated spaces for social events.
The wider AMAALA destination also brings together a growing portfolio of luxury hospitality brands, including Four Seasons, Six Senses, Rosewood, Equinox and Nammos, creating a broader ecosystem of hospitality, wellness, dining and leisure experiences around the marina.
Architecture Inspired by the Red Sea
The Yacht Club has been designed by international architecture practice HKS Architects, with the building drawing inspiration from the sculpted rock formations of the Red Sea coastline.
Its architectural language incorporates cantilevered terraces, curved forms, traditional Arabian references and elements inspired by the region’s maritime heritage. The result is intended to create a strong visual connection between the clubhouse, marina and surrounding landscape.
HKS’ design has also been recognized through the Saudi Building & Infrastructure Awards, where Khatib & Alami (K&A) received the 2025 Hospitality Project of the Year award for its work on the AMAALA Yacht Club. K&A provided construction supervision services, supporting quality, safety and project delivery.
Saudi Contractor Supports Delivery
Saudi Arabian Baytur played a significant role in bringing the Yacht Club to reality. Red Sea Global awarded Baytur contracts in March 2023 covering construction and oversight within Triple Bay Marina Village.
For the Yacht Club specifically, the scope included concrete, steel and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works. Baytur was also responsible for structural concrete, dewatering, earthworks and back-of-house finishes associated with elements of the wider Marina Village and marine-life development.
The project therefore demonstrates the increasingly sophisticated delivery capabilities being developed within Saudi Arabia, combining international design expertise with local construction and engineering capacity.
Specialist architectural supplier KAPHS has also identified the Yacht Club as a project where it supplied large-format curved NorthGlass jumbo insulated glass units for the building’s flowing façade. The glazing was engineered to provide large-scale transparency while meeting the thermal and durability requirements of the coastal environment.
Bringing International Yachting Expertise to Saudi Arabia
Red Sea Global has also partnered with Monaco Marina Management (M3) to support the Yacht Club’s development as an international yachting destination.
The partnership was established in 2023 and covers destination management, yachting standards, training and recruitment, as well as the development of an international events calendar and sailing academy.
M3 is a privileged partner of La Belle Classe Destinations, a certification associated with the Yacht Club de Monaco. The partnership is designed to support AMAALA in meeting international standards covering maritime ethics, environmental protection, design, education and sustainable yachting.
The Yacht Club will also support the development of Saudi Arabia’s sailing culture through training, youth opportunities and international events.
A Platform for Global Sailing
One of the most significant events already planned is the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race 2027, which will place AMAALA and Saudi Arabia on the international sailing calendar.
Beyond major events, the Yacht Club aims to establish year-round sailing, water sports, cultural programming and ocean-focused experiences. With average seasonal temperatures of approximately 26°C and average lows of around 23°C, AMAALA is being positioned as a compelling cruising destination throughout the year.
Sustainability is equally central to the development. Like the wider AMAALA destination, the Yacht Club is powered entirely by renewable energy, supporting Red Sea Global’s ambition to demonstrate how luxury tourism can be combined with regenerative development and environmental responsibility.
