The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced the start of the Expression of Interest (EOI) process for King Faisal Medical City (KFMC) in Abha and Prince Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz Medical City (PMMC) in Sakaka, in collaboration with the National Center for Privatization and PPP (NCP).
The project is being tendered under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model of Design, Build, Finance, Operate, Maintain and Transfer, with no clinical operations. King Faisal Medical City (KFMC) will have a bed capacity of 1,024, and Prince Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz Medical City (PMMC) in Sakaka will have a bed capacity of 442 beds.
The project is being tendered under a Public-Private Partnership
As per the PPP model, the private sector will be in charge of finishing the development with an innovative design that will deliver health services in accordance with modern healthcare models.

The development of both medical cities is critical to address the rising population’s demand for tertiary specialised care in the southern and northern regions. Furthermore, private sector participation in the management of hospitals and medical cities will contribute to Saudi Vision 2030 goals, such as boosting the private sector’s contribution to healthcare services, infrastructure improvement, and health facility management.
