AAID crafts an immersive new BCG Riyadh office blending innovation and heritage.
In a project that eloquently bridges tradition and transformation, award-winning interior design studio AAID has completed the new Riyadh headquarters for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The space is a stunning embodiment of Saudi Arabia’s heritage and ambitious future, a workplace that brings the Kingdom’s cultural legacy into dialogue with cutting-edge design and global business innovation.
A tribute to Saudi’s transformation journey
Located in the heart of Riyadh, the office reflects BCG’s role as a strategic driver of development and innovation across the region. The brief was ambitious: to create a functional, modern, and sustainable workplace that not only aligns with BCG’s global identity but also resonates deeply with local culture. The result is a workspace that serves as both a tribute to the Kingdom’s storied past and a beacon for its Vision 2030 aspirations.
Heritage patterns reimagined in modern design
The conceptual inspiration behind the design begins with the story of Saudi Arabia itself—its evolution from a pastoral, tribal society to a global economic powerhouse. AAID embraced this narrative as a guiding design principle. The idea was not just to decorate a space but to craft an experience that reflects the Kingdom’s trajectory, its resilience, its ambitions, and its dedication to innovation without erasing its roots.
This journey is made tangible through thoughtfully curated design elements. The use of arches, curved forms, and traditional patterns interpreted through a modern lens connects users to the past while creating an inspiring atmosphere suited to a fast-paced consultancy environment. The integration of regionally inspired textures and materials further deepens this emotional and cultural resonance.
Reception with Purpose

From the moment visitors step into the space, they are greeted by a grand reception desk carved from stone, immediately communicating a sense of strength and permanence. The choice of material and its execution are deliberate, rooted in Saudi’s architectural language and interpreted in a way that speaks to BCG’s role as a steadfast, future-ready institution.
Open and Collaborative Work Zones
Workstations are organized around the building’s core, maximizing access to natural light and panoramic city views. The open-plan design fosters collaboration while preserving individual focus. A tonal color palette is punctuated by bold accents, inspired by regional art and craft, energizing the workspace and delineating distinct zones.

Well-being in Every Detail
BCG’s employee-first culture shines through in features like the Barista and WorkLounge zones. These areas provide spaces for both social connection and quiet retreat. Soft curves, acoustic comfort, and elegant detailing from glazed tiles inspired by traditional weaving patterns to copper and timber finishes—create a calming yet vibrant environment.
Biophilic design principles are seamlessly integrated, with greenery and natural materials bringing the outside in. Ergonomic furniture, wellness-oriented layouts, and access to daylight reinforce the office’s commitment to holistic well-being.
Vertical Connectivity and Visual Impact
One of the most visually arresting features is the central staircase connecting social hubs on each floor. The stairwell wall is clad in light timber, intricately carved with patterns echoing traditional textiles. As the timber gives way to raw concrete, it mirrors the Kingdom’s shift from tradition to modernity, visually encapsulating the essence of the project.
Technology, Functionality, and Wayfinding
Modern consultancy requires seamless digital integration, and AAID delivered. The office features advanced connectivity, smartboards, and collaborative digital tools that support a dynamic workflow. Wayfinding and signage are clear yet elegant, blending practicality with design sophistication.

Materials That Speak
Every material used in the BCG Riyadh office tells a story. Light natural timber and rich copper accents provide warmth and depth. Ribbed glazing and structural interventions create visual interest and spatial definition. PET acoustic baffles and textured walls contribute to comfort while maintaining stylistic cohesion.
Special attention was paid to architectural elements such as arches and curves—central to the design’s identity. Through precise templating, AAID ensured these features maintained their visual and cultural integrity while functioning within a modern workspace context.

Challenges Met with Precision
The juxtaposition of raw and refined elements presented both opportunities and technical challenges. AAID’s design team overcame these with meticulous attention to scale, proportion, and finishing. Contrast was used not just aesthetically but strategically highlighting circulation paths, emphasizing transitions between zones, and enhancing spatial flow.
Soft finishes such as bespoke carpets, modular tiles, and woven vinyl define working areas and lounge zones, adding tactile comfort. Meanwhile, acoustic paneling introduces color and pattern while serving its technical function, a fine example of beauty meeting utility.
Sustainability and wellness at the core
The new BCG Riyadh headquarters is more than an office; it is a cultural landmark. It stands as a physical manifestation of Saudi Arabia’s transformation honoring its heritage while setting sights firmly on the future. By drawing from Vision 2030’s themes of diversification, sustainability, and innovation, the design aligns seamlessly with both national ambitions and global business needs.
Sustainability and wellness at the core
This project is a prime example of how thoughtful design can transcend aesthetic appeal to become a powerful narrative tool. AAID has delivered a workplace that not only inspires employees and impresses clients but also contributes to the ongoing dialogue about what it means to build the future in a region so deeply rooted in its past.
In essence, the BCG Riyadh office exemplifies a new era of workplace design in Saudi Arabia, one where cultural authenticity, innovation, and human-centered design come together to set a new benchmark for excellence.
