Eastern Province Cement Awards $270.5 Million Contract

Eastern Province Cement Company has acquired the board’s endorsement to construct a new production line with a daily capacity of 10,000 tonnes. This $270.52 million project is slated to replace certain low-efficiency production lines in the company’s plant to maximize the benefit of the existing plant infrastructure.

Eastern Province Cement has awarded the project to Sinmoa CDI, a leading Chinese company in the cement industry, with the two parties expected to sign the contract within two months from the date of the award, which was 4 January 2024.

In the first nine months of 2023, Eastern Province Cement recorded 55.79% higher net profits after Zakat and tax at SAR 148 million, compared to SAR 95 million in the first nine months of 2022.

Revenues climbed by 31.07% to SAR 696 million in January-September 2023 from SAR 531 million a year earlier.
