Bespoke, sustainable luxury textiles tailored for Saudi interiors and giga-projects.
Italian Textile House Lyria Weaves Its Way into Saudi Arabia’s Luxury Interiors Market. As Saudi Arabia’s design landscape surges with giga-projects and high-end hospitality developments, Lyria, the acclaimed Italian textile atelier, is making bold inroads into the Kingdom. Known for its bespoke, sustainable, and artistically crafted textiles, Lyria is aligning its luxury collections with the elevated demands of Saudi Arabia’s booming interior design sector.
Founded in Prato, the heart of Italy’s textile tradition, Lyria has carved out a niche in the fashion world, collaborating with luminaries such as Armani, Jil Sander, and Yohji Yamamoto. In recent years, the atelier has turned its creative lens to interior design, delivering one-of-a-kind fabrics, cushions, and upholstery for yachts, boutique hotels, and private residences around the world.
“Our transition into interiors felt natural,” says Riccardo Bruni, Founder and Creative Director at Lyria. “Spaces deserve the same tactile richness and narrative depth as garments—and Saudi Arabia, with its cultural vision and passion for design, is the ideal canvas.”
A Bespoke Approach for Giga-Scale Projects
Lyria’s expansion into the Gulf region is perfectly timed. As giga-projects such as NEOM, Diriyah Gate, and Red Sea Global reshape the Kingdom’s landscape, demand is growing for interiors that blend international luxury with local nuance.
While not yet publicly disclosed, Lyria is actively engaging with architects, designers, and developers across the region to provide tailored textile solutions for hospitality and high-end residential environments. The atelier’s collaborative approach, co-developing designs, prototyping rapidly, and delivering with precision, makes them a natural partner for large-scale, bespoke projects.
Sustainability Aligned with Vision 2030
As sustainability becomes a cornerstone of Vision 2030, Lyria’s practices stand out. From repurposing surplus fabrics and using natural dyes (including coffee, ash, and tea) to pioneering textile blends made from ocean-recovered plastics, the atelier’s eco-conscious philosophy echoes Saudi Arabia’s environmental commitments. Their production methods also follow the ZDHC MRSL protocol, eliminating hazardous substances from the manufacturing process.
“Sustainability isn’t a marketing term for us, it’s part of our DNA,” adds Riccardo. “We’ve always believed in creating beauty with integrity.”
Premium Craft, Cultural Sensitivity
Lyria’s collections, inspired by nature and crafted with a ‘wabi-sabi’ appreciation for imperfection and authenticity, offer rich textures and earthy palettes that align with both contemporary Saudi design and traditional aesthetics. From date-palm tones to sun-baked terracottas and sand-hued linens, the brand’s materials feel at home in the Kingdom’s desert architecture and modern luxury interiors alike.
Looking Ahead – A Strong Presence in the Middle East
Lyria will showcase its interior design capabilities at the upcoming 17th Real Estate Development Summit in Portugal later this month, where its key objective will be to build lasting partnerships with Saudi developers and consultants. The Middle East, and particularly Saudi Arabia, is central to Lyria’s growth strategy in the coming years.
“We’re not looking to scale in volume, we’re looking to scale in meaning,” says Riccardo. “Saudi Arabia’s emphasis on quality, artistry, and cultural legacy makes it one of the most exciting places in the world for design today. We’re here to contribute.”
