Saudi Arabia recently commemorated the opening of the first mosque in history to be constructed using groundbreaking 3D printing technology in Jeddah. Tucked away in a suburb of Al-Jawhara, this mosque bears the name of the late Abdulaziz Abdullah Sharbatly, as a profound tribute from his wife, the celebrated Saudi businesswoman Wajnat Abdulwahed.
Abdulwahed, the head of Fursan Real Estate, oversaw the project and employed state-of-the-art 3D printers from Guanli, a well-known Chinese manufacturer of 3D printing equipment. This innovative approach made it easier to build the large 5,600m2 building, which exquisitely combines originality and heritage. She clarified that the mosque represents architectural elegance and that its layout will encourage a spirit of peace and welcome among worshippers.
