The ‘Heart of Jeddah’, a key location sandwiched between Al Salam Palace and the brine desalination plant, is where Central Jeddah Development Company, a fully-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), is building a major new global destination.
The project, which is being built as a part of Downtown Jeddah, is alive with natural elements that are sustainable and designs that rely on renewable energy and cutting-edge systems and technologies.
The contract calls for the implementation of marine and infrastructure works, the first-stage demolition of 400 buildings and infrastructure, and the rerouting of 6.5 km of infrastructure services, including electrical ground installations, sewage pipes, and water supply.

The Central Jeddah Development Company noted that in addition to reclamation work, there will be offshore drilling, backfilling with drilling output, and sidewalk construction. These activities will improve the soil’s properties and prepare it for the upcoming construction work.
The scope of work takes in marine and yacht marinas with a length of 2.5 km and floating berths within the marina, execution of construction works on waterfront berths with a length of 1.5 km, and the restoration of public and private beaches.
A museum, an opera house, a sports stadium, coral farms, and the adjacent agricultural basins will be built into the heart of Jeddah, as will 17,000 homes and more than 3,000 rooms in hotels and resorts.
