Saudi Aramco has laid the foundation stone for the Shaheen petrochemical project in Ulsan, South Korea, at a total value of $7 billion. Shaheen is Aramco’s biggest investment in Korea to date, and it is planned to be one of the world’s largest integrated steam crackers.
It is also the first large-scale commercial application of Aramco’s thermal crude-to-chemicals technology, which was developed in conjunction with Lummus Technology.
