BESIX has picked up a contract from NEOM for the initial phase of dredging and quay wall development at the giga-project’s port in conjunction with Modern Building Leaders (MBL) and Boskalis. The overall contract value is close to SAR 3 billion, with the BESIX-MBL joint venture comprising in the region of half of the project scope
Serving as the main gateway to NEOM, it is undergoing a significant transformation to become the world’s most advanced, efficient, and sustainable port, with the design and build lump sum contract being awarded to European contractors, BESIX and Boskalis, as part of the BESIX-MBL joint venture. In keeping with BESIX’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, the company will prioritize reducing the carbon footprint, executing a strong Environmental Management System, employing advanced construction methods and components, and integrating accountable and sustainable procurement practices.
