The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the National Center for Privatization and Public-Private Partnerships (NCP), has received 66 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the clinical and non-clinical operations and maintenance of the SABIC Behavioral Care Specialist Hospital Project, which is located in Al-Nargis district, North Riyadh, and falls under the Second Health Cluster’s catchment area (R2).
The hospital’s building and part of the medical and non-medical equipment are provided by the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) social responsibility program. SABIC is the exclusive supporting partner for the project. The hospital is currently under development and is projected to be completed in 2022.
The hospital will be erected on a 62,500m2 site and will have a capacity of 150 beds
The Ministry of Health is looking for a specialist private-sector operator to run (clinical and non-clinical operations) and maintain the hospital, as well as provide some medical and non-medical equipment.
The hospital will be erected on a 62,500m2 site and will have a capacity of 150 beds, with five inpatient treatment rooms, 19 outpatient clinics, and six daycare treatment rooms.
Adults and youths will be able to receive specialized mental health and substance addiction therapy at the hospital, which will be open to both genders. The facility is a big step forward in improving access to mental health and substance abuse treatment in the Kingdom by providing high-quality care that follows international best practices and follows the national mental health paradigm. In addition, by boosting private sector participation in the healthcare sector, the hospital will contribute to a key goal of Vision 2030.
