Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as the chairman of the board of Qiddiya Investment Company, has unveiled the urban plan for the city of Qiddiya, slated to be one of the world’s most exciting new destinations for entertainment, sports, and culture.
The Qiddiya development’s first project, Qiddiya City is being constructed on the outskirts of Riyadh and will become home to 60,000 buildings across an area of 360 square kilometers; eventually hosting more than 600,000 residents.
With contracts worth $2.6 billion awarded to date, Qiddiya City is also expected to create more than 325,000 jobs and a create a nominal GDP of $34 billion per annum.

Highpoints in Qiddiya City will take in a gaming and esports district, a speed park track, golf courses, a water park, Six Flags Qiddiya, and a multipurpose stadium. Once completed, it will be the world’s largest entertainment city, even surpassing the iconic Waly Disney World in Florida.
Philippe Gas, a Disney veteran and the former CEO of Qiddiya, commented, “This is a super exciting project. It is the world’s biggest venture when it comes to entertainment, sports, and arts, all together and integrated. This has never been done before. So the complexity of it is exciting. It is almost three times the size of Walt Disney World. It is huge. This is a place that will, by its size, offer people days of entertainment.”
