Approval enables comprehensive fire and life safety services across projects.
Egis has been officially registered as a Saudi Civil Defense approved consultant by the General Directorate of Civil Defense (Salamah). The accreditation authorizes the firm to provide specialist fire and life safety services for public and private sector clients, including fire risk assessment, prescriptive and performance-based solutions, and compliance review, all in alignment with Civil Defense regulations and the Saudi Building Code. The registration allows Egis to support clients across the full project lifecycle, from the pre-concept stage through to final authority approval and construction supervision.
Single partner for design excellence and Civil Defence compliance
With this recognition, Egis becomes one of a select group of firms authorized to review fire strategy and life safety alongside the wider design. This gives clients across the Kingdom a single, accountable partner for both design excellence and Civil Defense compliance.
Egis’ Fire and Life Safety capabilities include:
- Prescriptive fire and life safety strategy
- Performance-based design solutions
- Fire risk assessment
- CFD and smoke movement modelling
- Evacuation and egress analysis
- Code compliance review and authority approval
- Construction supervision services

Mohamad Ben Messaoud, Country Managing Director at Egis, said: “Fire and life safety is an authority requirement as much as a moral one, and it has to be considered at every stage of design, not treated as a check at the end. This registration allows us to provide that formal advice ourselves, reviewing fire strategy alongside the rest of the design rather than after it, and standing behind it with Civil Defense. It reflects the standards our team upholds every day and gives our partners and clients across the Kingdom the expertise they have come to rely on.”
Egis has worked in Saudi Arabia since 1984 and operates from offices in Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar and AlUla. The firm’s work in the Kingdom includes the Riyadh Metro, Green Riyadh, and Riyadh Airport, alongside site supervision for the King Abdullah Financial District transit system and Phase 1 infrastructure at Riyadh Integrated Project. This experience spans giga-project masterplans, high-rise developments, retail malls, amusement parks and major transport projects. The accreditation now adds integrated fire and life safety compliance to this delivery expertise, as a single-source benefit to clients’ scope of work.
The accreditation extends the services Egis can offer to those clients and to new ones, supporting the safety requirements attached to the Kingdom’s infrastructure, urban development and economic diversification programs under Vision 2030.
