The Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has invited firms to submit expressions of interest (EOI) in the contract to develop the Al-Haer independent sewage treatment plant (ISTP) The Al-Haer ISTP, which will be located in Riyadh, will have a sewage treatment capacity of 200,000 cubic metres per day (cm/d).
The successful developer will form a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to operate and maintain the plant under a 25-year sewage treatment agreement (STA) with SWPC. SWPC’s obligations will be supported by a credit support agreement from the Saudi government.

Under the 25-year sewage treatment agreement, the successful developer will establish a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to run and maintain the plant. The Saudi government will back SWPC’s obligations via a credit support arrangement.
KPMG has been appointed as the project’s lead and financial adviser, while White & Case and Future Water and Power Consulting have been appointed as legal and technical advisers, respectively.
