To support fresh talent in film, fashion and the arts, Film AlUla has launched a new platform called AlUla Creates.
The platform will feature a global network of mentorships and will be part of a year-round initiative that connects young female filmmakers with industry professionals and funding. Saudi actress Mila Al Zahrani, who was nominated at the Venice Film Festival in 2019 for her role in the movie ‘The Perfect Candidate’, will act as one of the ambassadors for the platform.
AlUla Creates expands on Film AlUla’s existing efforts to establish the AlUla region as a film production powerhouse, including the construction of a new studio and the newly implemented filming incentives.

Charlene Deleon-Jones, executive director at Film AlUla, explains: “More than 70% of the population in Saudi Arabia is under 30 with the fastest growing cinema audience in the world. There is a buzz about the screen sector in homes, schools, and boardrooms. AlUla Creates is part of this picture, providing opportunities for creative development and collaborations across sectors and borders.”
