Linxon has announced that it has won an order from Samsung C&T to engineer, procure and construct a 380 kV substation project to connect Tanajib cogeneration and desalination project to the Saudi electricity grid.
The new 380 kV GIS substation, which is located near Tanajib in the Eastern Province, will feed a plant that will deliver power, steam, and desalinated water to Saudi Aramco’s new oil and gas operations in the area.
“We are honoured to have been selected by Samsung C&T as their partner of choice for this strategic project for Aramco”, commented Stefan Reisacher, CEO of Linxon. “We will be contributing with our expertise in advanced substation technology and support building a sustainable future”.
The cogeneration and seawater desalination plant will have a net capacity of roughly 940 MW of electricity generation
The cogeneration and seawater desalination plant will have a net capacity of roughly 940 MW of electricity generation, 1,084 tons per hour of steam output, and 19,470m3 per day of desalinated water output.
The Linxon supply incorporates an EPC contract for the 380 kV GIS substation with all necessary protection and control systems. It will be executing the project on a turnkey basis, including associated construction activities, equipment installation and commissioning.
