The Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services has signed a Saudi Road Code project contract to improve roads’ lifecycle cost and performance, under the Vision 2030.
The project seeks to serve as a technical reference for all related entities, with the National Road Safety Center mapping out a Saudi Road Code in partnership with the relevant authorities.
It also aims to attain the highest levels of safety, quality, economic efficiency, environmental stewardship, and sustainability in a variety of ways, the most significant of which are planning, design, execution, and road maintenance, all while prioritising road user safety.

The project uses first-class specifications for the construction of roads and bridges, in addition to the guidelines necessary to implement the code across all road networks for 18 months.
The Saudi Road Code initiative is in line with Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, with the goal of putting the Kingdom in sixth place globally in terms of road quality.
