Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded a major project – the construction of a 380kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) between Jillah and Layla – to the National Contracting Company (NCC). The value of the contract is SAR 417.4 million ($111.3 million).
The approximate route length of the OHTL is 282 kilometers, and involves using a 4-795 kcmil ACSR/AW CONDOR conductor per phase and two OPGW along the length of the new line. The new OHTL will be installed on a latticed steel tower in a vertical configuration.

NCC will perform on a lump-sum turnkey basis, carrying out the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, and all associated work and services until final handing over of the new OHTL in a suitably working and operating condition.
NCC need to complete the project within 25 months from the date the contract was awarded.
