POWERCHINA has announced that the first pile foundation project, the super-high tower pile foundation project for NEOM New City in Saudi Arabia, has begun with the successful drilling of the first cast-in-place pile.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, the owner’s performance director commended POWERCHINA’s outstanding organisational mobilisation and performance management capabilities and pledged to fully support the project’s performance and create the groundwork for future collaboration.
The main construction contents of the project include drilling of cast-in-place piles with diameters of 1.5 meters and 2.5 meters.
The main construction contents of the project include drilling of cast-in-place piles with diameters of 1.5 meters and 2.5 meters, fabrication and installation of steel cages and their substations, concrete pouring, excavation, and chiseling of pile heads, and inspection of cast-in-place piles.
The successful delivery of the project will give POWERCHINA the opportunity to obtain the follow-up work on the NEOM New City pile foundation engineering project.
The total investment for Saudi NEOM New City is approximately $500 billion. It is a national strategic project of Saudi Arabia’s ‘Vision 2030’ and looks to promote the Kingdom’s national transformation and green development.
