Advanced, Sustainable Gateway Positioning Neom at Heart Of Global Logistics Networks.
As NEOM continues to take shape as one of the world’s most ambitious giga-projects, the Port of NEOM is emerging as a cornerstone of its economic and industrial vision. Strategically located on the Red Sea near the Suez Canal, the port sits at the crossroads of global east–west trade routes, connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe while strengthening regional integration.
Strategic Red Sea location links three continents seamlessly
Already operational and handling cargo, the port provides a comprehensive range of services including containerized freight, bulk cargo, project logistics, warehousing, and roll-on/roll-off ferry operations. These capabilities are designed to deliver predictable, high-volume throughput while supporting the rapid development underway across NEOM and the wider northwest region of Saudi Arabia.

Fully automated terminal boosts efficiency and throughput
Central to the port’s transformation is the development of its new T1 container terminal, scheduled to launch in 2026 with a capacity of up to 1.5 million TEU. Designed to accommodate the world’s largest vessels, the facility features a 550-meter access channel, an 18.5-meter draft, and a 900-meter quay wall. It will also introduce the Kingdom’s first fully automated ship-to-shore cranes, supported by advanced digital systems that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
Renewable energy powers next-generation port operations
Sustainability is embedded at the core of the port’s design. Operations will be powered by renewable energy, with fully electric equipment and low-emission technologies such as cold ironing at berth. Construction has incorporated low-carbon materials, while dredged materials have been repurposed within the wider Oxagon development, reinforcing NEOM’s commitment to circular and environmentally responsible infrastructure.

Multimodal corridors enhance global trade connectivity
Beyond infrastructure, the Port of NEOM is playing a growing role in reshaping regional and international logistics. Recent developments include the activation of a multimodal corridor linking Europe, Egypt, NEOM, and the GCC, enabling faster and more flexible cargo movement through integrated land and sea routes. This initiative is already facilitating the transport of time-sensitive goods and expanding trade flows beyond traditional container shipping.
Equipping Saudi talent for high-tech roles
As part of Oxagon—NEOM’s advanced industrial ecosystem the port is not only a logistics hub but also a catalyst for economic diversification, innovation, and job creation. Training programs are equipping Saudi talent for high-tech roles such as remote crane operations, supporting the Kingdom’s broader ambitions for a knowledge-based economy.
With continued investment, cutting-edge automation, and a clear focus on sustainability, the Port of NEOM is set to redefine maritime trade in the region. As NEOM evolves, the port will remain a critical enabler connecting industries, accelerating supply chains, and positioning Saudi Arabia as a global logistics powerhouse.
