Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, the development arm of Riyadh Municipality and a strategic enabler of private sector participation in advancing municipal services, has announced the tender for the project, “Development, Construction, Management, Operation, and Maintenance of the Eastern Logistics Gateway of Riyadh and Truck Parking Facilities.” The project, in partnership with Riyadh Parking, will provide a sustainable solution to regulate truck movement through dedicated off-street parking, while unlocking new opportunities for investors to enter Riyadh’s growing logistics sector.
Dedicated truck parking facilities, logistics warehouses, maintenance centers
The project represents an integrated logistics hub serving the Riyadh region. Spanning approximately one million square meters, it is strategically located on the Dammam–Riyadh Highway and includes dedicated truck parking facilities, logistics warehouses, maintenance centers, as well as supporting services and public amenities, helping to reduce random truck parking across the districts of Riyadh, improve the parking experience for truck drivers, enhance the efficiency of logistics movement, reduce pressure on city entrances and infrastructure, improve traffic flow, and enhance Riyadh’s urban landscape.
Long-term operational asset in a strategic location on the Dammam–Riyadh Highway
The tender seeks to attract investors to finance and deliver this vital project, under the supervision and management of Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, the development arm of Riyadh Municipality. The project leverages the Kingdom’s growing logistics sector, offering investors a unique opportunity to contribute to Riyadh’s urban development through the development of a long-term operational asset in a strategic location on the Dammam–Riyadh Highway.
Enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the organization of truck movement
The tender is being launched as a continuation of ongoing off-street parking initiatives, in response to the rapid growth in logistics activity and the increasing number of trucks and heavy vehicles entering the capital, and the resulting pressure on city entrances, infrastructure, and the urban landscape, with the aim of achieving integration and addressing the needs of high-demand areas and activities. The project will deliver integrated regulatory solutions that enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the organization of truck movement through strategic partnerships with the private sector that respond to the city’s future needs, enhance the efficiency of municipal asset management through sustainable operational solutions that support quality of life in Riyadh, while aligning with global best practices and the requirements for Transport Service Centers and the Parking Design Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
The project will also adopt a contemporary and well-engineered site design to ensure optimal use of the site in meeting users’ parking needs, while maintaining compliance with applicable standards throughout all stages of the project.
