Organizers dmg events has announced the launch of another high-profile trade show in the form of the Saudi Manufacturing Expo. The new three-day show will take place from 10-12 September 2023, gathering industry professionals together to explore Saudi Arabia’s diverse and rapidly growing manufacturing sector.
Taking place at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Convention Center, Saudi Manufacturing Expo will feature some of the world’s largest multi-national companies and home-in on manufacturing-related industries, including aerospace and defence, agriculture, construction and infrastructure, healthcare, transport and logistics, mining, retail, ICT, and water and utilities.
The event comes at a crucial time in the country’s Vision 2030 timeline as the Kingdom’s National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) sets out its delivery plan for the coming year – key of which is enabling Saudi products to access global markets, and for the Kingdom to become a leading player in the energy, mining, logistics and industrial sectors. According to the NIDLP delivery plan, a cross-sector strategic approach is underway to drive initiatives that contribute to increasing manufacturing efficiency, reducing costs, enhancing competitiveness, and increasing products’ efficiency and quality.
The new industry Expo, to take place in September 2023, aims to support KSA’s National Industrial Development and Logistics Program
KSA’s manufacturing sector is also one of the world’s fastest-growing, recording average growth of approximately 7.5% annually and accounting for more than 10% of the country’s GDP. A recent report by statista.com shows revenue in manufacturing is projected to amount to $182.40 billion in 2022, with an annual CAGR of 4.64% expected over the next three years. Additionally, the Kingdom is home to 9,563 factories with an aggregate capital of $289.6 billion.
“The target industries we have chalked out for this event all play a pivotal role in the growth of Saudi’s manufacturing sector and are clearly identified in the Saudi Vision 2030 NIDLP delivery plan,” said Muhammed Kazi, Vice President, Construction, dmg events. “The growth KSA is witnessing is having positive knock-on effects on the wider region and is attracting a substantial amount of international interest and investment. The Saudi Manufacturing Expo will be a focal point for discussion and networking, as well as showcasing the latest research and innovations in the field, in turn spurring valuable investment opportunities for the whole supply chain.”
With an average annual growth rate of 7.5% and projected revenue of $182 billion for 2022, the Kingdom ranks high among the world’s top manufacturing hubs
The Expo will also feature a co-located summit on the manufacturing sector in which experts will share insights about the key aspects affecting the industry and discuss manufacturing challenges and opportunities to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030. The main strategic conference themes include the industrial internet of things (IIOT), predictive maintenance, automation and dark factories, and smarter, more sustainable manufacturing.
“A key objective in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 national development strategy is the creation of a sustainable, competitive, and diversified manufacturing ecosystem, driven by private sector activity. Underpinning achievement of this objective is the National Industrial Strategy (NIS), which outlines a programme to boost domestic manufacturing and exports by nurturing the development of strategic industries through the creation of specialised manufacturing clusters,” Kazi added.
“The summit will facilitate the advancement and realization of these goals and together with the Saudi Infrastructure Expo will present tangible opportunities to access the billions of dollars of investment being ploughed into the Kingdom’s infrastructure and manufacturing bases, where Fourth Industrial era technology is being prioritized.”
The Saudi Infrastructure Expo is the most recent in a string of high-profile events from dmg events, which has more than a decade of experience in planning and executing major events in the Kingdom, including The Big 5 Saudi, SEA Expo, and INDEX Saudi Arabia. The September 2023 event will attract industry professionals from government, regulators, manufacturing engineers, project managers, operations, logistics, procurement, production, quality assurance, and R&D.
The recently concluded inaugural Saudi Infrastructure Expo proved highly successful and moved to establish itself as the Kingdom’s leading event for showcasing the systems and infrastructure needed to fulfil Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Smart Cities programme. The event’s associated summit also confirmed its credentials as the premier ‘think tank’ for exploring the needs of the Kingdom’s $300 billion infrastructure projects plan.
