Red Sea Destination, one of Saudi Arabia’s mega-projects, is poised to welcome visitors in 2023, with Loredana Pettinati, Red Sea Global’s (RSG) Senior Travel Trade Director, explaining that women will be permitted to wear bikinis at the destination.
When asked about current regulations in the Kingdom, Pettinati stated at a press conference in Dubai that no restrictions will be enforced on women and that no specific gender rules will be in place at the resort.

Pettinati further highlighted that as a European expat, she feels comfortable and claimed that “across Saudi Arabia, we do not have to wear an abaya, women are allowed to drive. There will be no distinction between men and women entering any facility.”
She also explained that a man and woman booking a hotel will not be asked if they are married or not.
