ROSHN, the Public Investment Fund (PIF)-owned developer, has announced that its first residential community in Riyadh will be named SEDRA and will consist of more than 30,000 homes, more than 4,500 of which will be built in its first phase of construction.
The modern, connected community will offer homes of various sizes and facades to cater to all residents’ requirements. Complete with kitchens, split unit ACs, water heating systems, and LED lighting, SEDRA is being designed in the Salmani architectural style, which combines urban and traditional design elements to emphasize Saudi culture and heritage. Through services and facilities such as mosques, schools, healthcare, pedestrian and bike paths, cafes, restaurants, leisure and entertainment options, it aims to inspire a strong sense of community spirit and genuine connection between residents.
The Saudi sovereign fund has established 35 strategic companies since 2018
“David Grover, ROSHN Group CEO, said: “We are delighted to announce SEDRA as the name of our first community, which is a significant and exciting step in the delivery of ROSHN’s mandate to raise the rate of homeownership to 70% in the Kingdom. At ROSHN, we are deeply committed to developing communities of the future that meet current demands for high-quality, accessible housing. Our communities will represent a global exemplar in residential living. In addition, they will play a vital role in further advancing the nation’s flourishing infrastructure and real estate sectors, which are crucial to the Kingdom’s economic diversification and growth goals.”
The SEDRA community covers 20 million square metres and is strategically located north of Riyadh, south of King Khalid Airport, near Princess Nourah University, and behind Riyadh Front.
SEDRA is named after an indigenous tree that grows widely in the community.
