Southern Province Cement Company has announced a partnership with Sinoma International Engineering Company to construct a new 5,000-tonne-per-day production plant.
According to Southern Province Cement Company’s statement to the Saudi bourse Tadawul, the $330 million contract will also see the Chinese business construct the groundwork for a similar production line in the Kingdom.

A local bank is financing the entire project, which is expected to be completed in 30 months.
Southern Province announced earlier this year plans to develop a production line at Jazan Cement Factory to replace the current production lines.
The company announced in its bourse filing that the study of technical and financial offers from companies who filed to compete for the project’s implementation had been concluded and work was underway to draft and review the contract. It will be signed after completing the necessary procedures.
