The conference went beyond announcing the exhibition agenda. Mr. Mohammed Yisr Barnieh – Minister of Finance
Mr. Barnieh emphasized that there are many promising, “big unlimited” opportunities in all sectors. He noted that the state is keen to make all needs and conditions available and to provide a suitable environment that encourages investment attraction and helps convert opportunities into real investments. He added that all ministries, authorities, and officials must be involved and work together as one team to achieve this goal, stressing that rebuilding Syria is everyone’s responsibility, involving Government, Business, Society, Civil Society, and every individual. He expressed gratitude to supporters from friendly and brother countries, institutions, and development agencies, while affirming that the greatest aid should come from the people of Syria. He concluded with optimism that Syria will prosper and “Inshallah we will build a country that we’re proud of.”


Basel Al-Suweydan – Syrian Minister of Agriculture
At the beginning, Mr. Al-Suweydan wished the best for the exhibition and stated that, Inshallah, it will be a step in rebuilding Syria. He highlighted that Syria suffered from disruptions affecting humans, structures, and agriculture, and called for rebuilding starting with human beings and agriculture rehabilitation. He reiterated that Syria is an agricultural country, and that if agriculture is strong, the country will be okay. He stressed unity as one society and the importance of prioritizing agriculture in Syria, thanking Mr. Mohammed Hamza and the organizers.


Waheed Mubarak Sayyar – Bahraini Ambassador
The Bahraini Ambassador congratulated the organizers, noting that the first edition played an important role in introducing local and international investors to available opportunities. He affirmed that the second edition will have an even bigger impact, pointing to the “one thousand miles” road described by ministers where progress begins with one step and Syria has already walked hundreds. He expressed confidence in GCC support and in the belief that the parties are one society that shares and complements each other.


Mr. Osama Al-Tabbaa – Vice President, Syrian Canadian Business Council
Mr. Al-Tabbaa stated that there will be a strategic agreement signature between SJBC and IMAR, where the council will serve as a strategic partner for IMAR exhibitions in Syria and abroad. He clarified that he represents the Syrian-Canadian Business Council (SCBC) and explained discussions about launching exhibitions in Canada with Canadian companies, connecting Syrian and Canadian businesses in addition to companies inside and outside Syria aiming to improve and strengthen the economy.
