SABIC has opened the doors of its new landmark building in Jubail which, built on a total land area of 66,000m2, has a built-up area of 254,000m2, and accommodates more than 3,600 employees. It has been constructed using SABIC steel, with 77% of mechanical, electrical and finishing work being acquired locally.
The building’s design is fuelled by SABIC’s core values: inspire, engage, create, and deliver, and is developed from a crystal pattern, symbolizing the nature of SABIC’s work in which many aspects harmonize in one fabric. It embodies SABIC’s 45-year journey of innovation and sustainability.
The building is LEED Gold certified for its smart resource management and energy efficiency measures. It generates all of the energy utilized in lighting the recreation center and parking areas using over 1,500 solar panels augmented by wind energy technology.

It successfully reduces overall CO2 emissions by 11,642 tonnes, making it the first building in Jubail to achieve carbon neutrality in line with SABIC’s sustainability objective to attain carbon neutrality in all of its operations by 2050.
The SABIC Jubail building connects the company’s global sites by utilizing cutting-edge technology such as advanced data systems, environmental and operational excellence systems, and so on. It includes 321,000 system assets such as safety, management, power, information technology, security, and mechanical systems. It is also certified by the Uptime Institute (UTI), a global institution specializing in data center quality.

An app by the name of SABICOne enables easy navigation inside the building by helping visitors and employees find their way to various areas and facilities. It allows employees to book the gym, reserve meeting rooms, make an appointment at the clinic, find colleagues and team contacts, view events, and much more related to the building.
The new building reflects SABIC’s role in facilitating transformation, boosting the competitiveness of the national economy, and supporting the different facets of across-the-board industrial development in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
