Gerard “Jerry” Inzerillo Leads Ambitious $63.2 Billion Cultural Development.
Gerard “Jerry” Inzerillo, a distinguished figure in the hospitality and tourism industry, has been leading the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) and Diriyah Company as Group Chief Executive Officer since June 2018 and January 2023, respectively. Appointed by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Inzerillo’s mission is to transform Diriyah, the birthplace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the ancestral home of the Al Saud royal family, into a premier cultural and lifestyle destination.
The Diriyah project, valued at approximately $63.2 billion, celebrates the past by redefining urban development for the 21st century and beyond, making Diriyah once more into one of the greatest gathering places in the world. The development encompasses a blend of cultural, heritage, entertainment, retail, hospitality, educational, and residential components. Upon completion, it is expected to attract 50 million annual visits, and SAR 70 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP, and 178,000 direct jobs, significantly contributing to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative.
Under Jerry’s leadership, Diriyah Company has achieved several notable milestones. In January 2023, the Diriyah project was designated as a “giga project” under the Public Investment Fund, underscoring its importance to the Kingdom’s economic diversification efforts. Furthermore, in January 2024, Diriyah Company, in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Culture, inaugurated Diriyah Art Futures, a center dedicated to digital arts, highlighting the project’s commitment to cultural enrichment.
Jerry’s extensive career spans five decades, during which he has been instrumental in the development and management of several high-profile projects. Before his tenure in Diriyah, he served as the CEO of Forbes Travel Guide, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the brand’s global footprint.
